Townshend College Diploma Programs

Townshend College has five diploma programs, all approved as vocational training programs, under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005:

Each Townshend Diploma Program is delivered in an intensive time frame, ranging from 20 to 26 weeks. That’s because we believe that in today’s world, students are in a hurry to complete their education, especially adult learners who have busy lives and want to enhance their work opportunities as quickly as possible. Our goal is to help launch your career – whether a new one, or one you’ve worked at for some time.

  • Each course in each program is instructor-led. Our instructors have the academic qualifications, teaching and practical experience to focus on developing the work-ready skills and competencies necessary for job and career success.
  • We are well acquainted with students coming from the Second Career and similar programs and the needs they face to get back into the workforce.

Admission to these programs requires an OSSD certificate or equivalent. Potential students may be eligible to apply under mature student status (19 years of age). The entrance evaluation generally includes an English competency test and a successful interview with an Education Consultant. (See admissions)

Townshend Diploma Programs include, along with the program content, several unique elements.

  • We assist our students to assess their own learning style and apply their skill set to the college environment.
  • We actively encourage the development of critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • We provide a focused, professional approach to job hunting, through assistance with resumes, interview skills, personal image and the use of business language.
